Energy efficiency, dark-sky compliance and glare control are central — exterior lighting should reveal, not blind.

We default to dark-sky-friendly fixtures (full cut-off, downlight bias) and design with neighbours in mind. Compliant in every jurisdiction we work.
Warm color temperatures (2200–2700K) and timed off-periods minimize wildlife impact. We follow Audubon dark-sky guidelines.
Wash lighting (grazed walls, lit trees) almost always outperforms path lights. Path lights for code compliance only; wash for ambience.
Astronomical clock + scene controller (Lutron RA3 or DMX for large estates). Set once, runs sundown to dawn for years.
LED across the board; a fully lit estate of 1 acre typically runs 800–1,500W total, less than a hairdryer.
Residential exterior scheme $12–40k; estate-scale fully programmed system $40–180k.
